Eastern Spinebills are honey eaters. They have thin and long beaks, which is a perfect design for extracting nectar from flowers. They often can be seen in the Blue Mountains hovering among flowers. These birds are agile and usually move quickly between shrubs.

The Eastern Spinebill lives in forests with heaths and shrubby gardens. Often the buzzing sound of their wings can be heard clearly nearby but only a quick glimpse of them can be seen.
