You took off your shoes and rolled up your trousers. As you made your way slowly down into the water, the ducks started swimming away from you, so you decided to walk faster. The water was about waist deep making walking difficult. Those birds that could fly started to take off, while others were flapping and running frantically away from you. The duck with the injured wing could swim much faster than you. It was swimming back and forth, as you followed. Before you knew it, it was getting late in the evening and difficult to see in the dim light.
You realised that you have been in the water for 3 hours. The skin on your hands and feet was wrinkled, while the rest of your body was drenched in water. You quickly packed up and returned home, soaking wet.
That night, you continued to wonder about that duck... maybe you could try again tomorrow. Or maybe a better solution would be to call
a Wildlife Rescue Organisation for help.
